wow looks like when he gets back your gonna have some competition!
VERY NICE KNIFE!
and since its his first that makes it even more amazing!

I've seen your knives and sheath but don't own one yet. I like what you make

A Father and Son should work together in the shop; quality time is hard to come by when Sons grow into Men. It sounds like your Son has both skills and inelegance. A sailor and a Knife maker is not a bad combination to have. You should be proud, as should he. That’s a fine knife he made.

Good luck to him in the Sand Box

GREAT looking knife! I have yet to make my own blade and I'm interested in starting with one made from a file. Any suggestions? Softening, hardening, tempering, etc? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wasn't Bob Loveless in the Navy when he made his first knife?

Great looking work! I'm sure it will serve him (or someone else) well. Good luck "over there!"
