John made my son this knife and from there we assembled a pretty decent lil hiking/camping kit.

Thanks icybluesmile! He turned 9 in January :) The JK was his first real knife. Helluva lot better than dad's first real knife (hollow handled survival knife of 80's fame :o ) I dig your avatar. Immensly. BIG Rambo fan

theedge13, good on you for getting your son involved with the outdoors. Mine started when he was 7 with camping trips in the backyard (made going home a lot easier if it didn't work out . . . ). He is 26 & we still share this bond between us along with fishing, but not as often as we both would like. Spend all the time you can with him now, high school graduation is just "a couple of week-ends away" . . . :)
Great kit & knife, lucky kid for sure.
Be safe.

That's a nice kit the two of you put together. And it's a wonderful thing that you share the same interests!

Looks like a nice setup he has. Enjoy your time out with him. If you`re real nice maybe you can use his knife while you`re waiting for your own. ;)

Dunno John, between that and that lil hatchet he just got, he guards them like a stinkin hawk. I was only able to get the pic of it all when he was at his moms! hehe :D
