My special Shadow!!

Hey guys

I found out that the one-piece line was being discontinued starting December, 2009. Unfortunately it was the 5th of December when i found out, but that didnt prevent me from contacting Heather at CRK to see if i couldnt get a Shadow III.

Being fantastically flexible they agreed to make me one, even though the cut-off date was passed. 3 1/2 months later its here with me! Note the date: Feb. 23 2010, that probably makes it the last Shadow III Single Guard to leave CRK :cool:

Is that cool or what? And just for the record, this is an amazing knife!!! Absolutely love it!

My first CRK was a Shadow III with the double guard. I figured at the time since it was the cheapest CRK, I would get one and if I did not like it, I did not spend alot. WELL.....30 CRK later, with I think at last count 17 OPR, you might say I like them. I like the Shadow III so much I bought another just for keeps. I EDC my Shadow III all through hunting season and love it............Congrats on your new Shadow III !!!
 
I grabbed a Shadow IV myself, somewhere around early November, and I love it to death. Any time the 10" Bowie is inappropriate, that's the knife I reach for.

Great little knife you have there. Keep it sharp!
 
The more I look and read about this knife, and the fact that they will be drying up shortly, the more I think I need to buy another knife...soon!

I was looking at this knifes for looong time, after hearing news that they discontinued I finally ordered it.

Yes, i did. I couldnt find anybody that stocked the Single Guard Shadow so i contacted CRK directly. They were great and flexible to deal with. Definitely reccomended :thumbup:
 
I have a Shadow III with the single guard and love it. It is a great small and handy size and I have it on me, or in my bag, anytime I am out in the woods. I have a firestarter, some tinder, and some water purification tablets in the handle and it all just fits.

I have medium size hands so I can just get a full grip on it, but barely:




Here it is compared to a Small 21 Sebenza to get an idea of the overall size:




The leather sheath that comes with it is very comfortable and carries very well




But I got a kydex sheath for it as the leather is a little akward to carry in a bag and really only suited to carrying on the strong side hip. The kydex sheath is much smaller overall and stashes better in a bag or I can mount it on a shoulder strap or a multitude of other ways:

 
Thats a nice and slim kydex sheath you got it for it. I agree with the handle size, its a little bit too small for my liking, but it havent had the chance to see if it bothers me while using it. I dont think it will though.
