After a lot of great advice on this forum I purchased the Spyderco Delica 4. I am very happy with it and would give it an 8.5/10. My version is the VG-10 steel with a partially serated blade. Blade is 3" with about 2.8" cutting surface. Take this for what it is worth but here are what I consider the hits and misses of the knife.

Hits: Thumb hole is terrific as is the clip.
Misses: Knive steel is a little thick and knife is a tad heavier than I'd expect for this size. Somewhat wide due to incorporating the hole in the knife but it does ride well in the pocket.

If I got another model after this one it would most likely be the military model in S30V. It is a bigger blade but the same weight and perhaps narrower. Also, instead of japan it is made in America and contains S30V.

Overall, I am pleased with my recent acquisition. I purchased it through Savonson at peoples suggestion here. Good price and supports the Blade Forum as does Graham.

I got three (two gen.4), one is coming soon. And I plan to buy at least one more.

It´s a great knife.

After trying to open a Native with it's smaller, partially-covered hole, I appreciate the larger hole in the D4/E4 series, even if it does mean a little more width. I frequently have only one hand available for opening/closing a knife, and it's sometimes wet & slippery. The larger hole is a boon at those times.

The handle is a little thicker and heavier than the D3/E3 knives, but the D4/E4 knives have a bit more rigidity than their model 3 ancestors. And for me, that's a good thing. I don't like flex in knife handles when I'm doin' something I shouldn't be doin' with them. Anyway, it's all negligible after packin' the PM or Manix 80mm or RSK that I carry off work hours.

If you're looking for light weight in a Millie sized knife, have a look at the CF Millie with BG42 blade steel. NGK had them on special recently and may still have some. From what I read, there is a noticable weight difference in the CF vs. the G-10.
