Hey everyone,

I recently finished putting together all the pieces of my Spyderco Mule Team 8, a gift from my girlfriend for our anniversary earlier this month. I've been wanting one forever and I'm very glad to finally have one to put together to my liking.

The scales are Halpern Titanium's Option 4 G-10 in Ranger Green. They are described on the website to completely cover the tang but it is still exposed ever so slightly...which I love. The scales feel great in the hand and are nice and grippy, as G-10 should be. Following Halpern Titanium's suggested instruction, I darkened the scales immediately with some Mineral Oil. Halpern's customer service is excellent and efficient. Any question I had was answered in a prompt fashion. As an added bonus, they are based out of Massachusetts so the scales made it to my front door in just under one business day.

The kydex sheath is my favorite part about this knife. It is custom-made by fellow BladeForums member GLOCKCRAZZ (Joey). I did a bit of research on Mule sheaths and this lead me to other members' threads on this forum showcasing Joey's excellent craftsmanship. I knew I wanted a factory looking kydex sheath, one that would look like it came with the knife, and Joey certainly hit home. After contacting him, I received my sheath in the mail about a week and a half later. The addition of the Spyderco G-Clip truly makes this sheath look factory and allows me to carry the knife easily on a belt or even in a large pocket, something which I knew would be very important to my using of this knife. I cannot express enough how pleased I am with the outcome.

A special thanks goes out to Joey (GLOCKCRAZZ) - should you ever find yourself in need of a kydex sheath for your Mule, he's definitely your man.
..and thanks for looking everyone!
