My Spyderco Tattoo

I asked opinions about a Spyderco "bug" tattoo a few days ago, and eventually decided on getting an Endura instead. Well, I changed my mind again and designed my own knife. It's distinctly a Spyderco, but it doesn't exist.

I took the handle of the carbon fiber Stretch, exactly to size and shape, and made the texture look like the carbon fiber of the first Sage. The blade is a Native blade, stretched to fit the handle, and with that Spyderco "hump" that we all love. The result is below...

Next to the Native in S30V, its main inspiration (I don't have a Stretch)...

The photos really don't do the tattoo justice; he really did a great job on that carbon fiber.

I think the tattoo was very well-executed, and the knife design was my thoughts on what the "perfect" Spyderco would look like. Tell me what you think

I like it. Looks like a mash between the Manix (original) and Caly3 with a Native blade. :)

LOL; it's not upside-down, it wouldn't fit on my arm with the other tattoos I already have...

I usually carry my knives in a p'kal grip, so it's oriented right.

No etching on the blade. It's not a real knife. I was going to put the Spyderco bug logo on the blade, but again, it's not a real Spyderco model.

That turned out well. And yes, I also think that would make for a great spyderco design. Nice work.

Dude!! Super BA! But in order to truly honor the Spyderco design you have to get the Spydie symbol on the blade - and you have to get the place of origin...Maybe you could ask your mom where you were "made" and put that at the tang of the blade rather than Golden, Colorado. Haha!

Very cool....... I'm thinking of getting a Spyderco bug tattoo... my wife got her first tat recently and now I want one.

I just can't decide where......

Very cool. Not the model I would have picked, but it's still a cool tattoo.
It's not a real Spyderco model (if it were, I'd pick an Endura), but thanks :)

He should get a free knife!! lol. Looks bad ass.
I would very much like a free Spyderco, but the tattoo is my way of showing my support for them and my creating what I see as the perfect Spyderco model (for me). No shenanegans involved to get a free product LOL. I would love to hear Mr. Glesser's comments, both about the design and the tattoo.
