Just recently I get the CS SRK Carbon V ,my old wish :) Great knife, can't wait to start using it. Sharpened it with Sharpmaker, now is razor sharp,40 degrees angle.
Btw,does it holds edge with 30 degrees angle ? I would like to hear from someone who got expirience with it.

Anyway, here the list from picture, top to bottom:

1. Bayonet from AK 47
2. Cold Steel SRK Carbon V
3. Becker BK2
4. Mora Bushcraft Black
5. SRM 707
6. Leatherman Charge TTi

Very nice!

I don't have an SRK, but I do have the Gurkha Kukri and Recon Tanto in Carbon V. By all accounts it is a spectacular steel. I wouldn't recommend giving it a 30 degree angle, in fact I wouldn't recommend giving it less than a 46 degree angle, unless of course you are primarily carrying it as a weapon.

I also use my Sharpmaker at 40 degrees on my SRK. I've never gone down to 30 degrees because I want to keep more metal behind the edge.

In the past, I sharpened all my knives with a Lansky diamond setup. I used to sharpen my Recon Tanto on 25 degree, but I'm not sure how accurate the Lansky guide is on degree of angle. But, I never had any edge issues using this angle, no matter how hard I used the blade.

i have a factory 2nd srk in carbon v that is reprofiled very very thin. just a bit steeper than zero (dont wanna remove all the coating) mirror finished. havnt chopped much with it, but in regular use its been quite scary... :)
