Hello all, my ss police is showing the pins that are used the knife to hold it together, one at the pivot, one above the lock and one near the bottom,

is this allright? just checking it made me alittle nervous
they arent moving or anything

Hi Aaron. refinish the scales on a pieces of 3M Scotch-Brite. rub the knife in one direction, back and forth, until the entire surface is the same. Then see if the pins still show.

nope that didnt work... i tried doing a hand rubbed finish, but it still shows

I wouldn't worry about it unless the blade seems "sloppy". If it becomes a problem, send it to Dr. Mike.

That't the nice thing about the stainless scales, if they show minor scrapes from carry or use, a "Scotchbrite" pad works wonders. It makes the scales look new again.

Aaron,
I wouldn't worry about it too much. In fact, most Spyderco's that I have show their pins within a few months of carry. This doesn't affect the knife in any way besides looks. I have a Pegasus that I have carried off and on for about 3 years and I have scotch brited the handle so many times that the pins show through very clearly, I think it looks kinda neat.

Aaron-

Don't sweat the pins. I've carried the same Police every working day for more then 15 years. The pins show, but the knife is as tight as ever and there's no movement of or at the pins.
