my strider/buck tarani arrived today

hey guys got my sb4t/pe today and i have to say im impressed with what you get for the money i think i understand what all the fuss over the sng/smf is all about now and the real strider can only be better. It feels great in the hand it will become my main edc from now on untill i can afford a real strider god my bank account is going to hate me lol.

hope you guys can help me with a little info i think i may have got a oddball sb4t if i look at the info on the knife it says that the blade is .145 thick and the liner is 0.40. But when i took the calipers to the knife the blade on mine is .156 and the liner is 0.52 thick and flame treated i thought buck did not heat treat the liner as they are made of 410ss steel or are they titanium. The knife i got is not the new one with g10 but is the toscom handled one so did i get a oddball or is this something that may be a one of a kind hope you can help with the info

Congrats on your new Tarani. I've not handled nor even seen one but from what I've read and pics I've seen they appear to be a nice knife.

I do however own two SnG's, on older Gen 3 and a Gen 6 I obtained last month. They are indeed extremely well built, tough, knives. As you mentioned, they are a wee bit expensive but worth every penny if you value a fine blade.

Hopefully, your Tarani's performance will be close to what I've received from the Striders.

My SnG's and 110's share time as my secondary knife as I hike/camp/fish here in central Florida.

glade to see you have the real thing i have yet to handle a real strider but if the buck/strider is anything like the sng/smf in feel i think i will have to get myself a strider i know that the buck will suit my needs for now as a edc but i think the real thing would last me a lifetime worth of use

the buck is a nice knife for the price but i wish it was a little bigger in the lock but for what i plan to use it for it should hold ok if i want to use a knife that i can abuse i will pull out my greco whisper folder that thing is buit like a little tank.
