It's a handle-down leg sheath fitted for a Kershaw Trooper. I'm happy with it, except for one thing. The straps are made of nylon cloth overlaying elastic bands. In one spot, the nylon has ripped, exposing the elastic (it arrived that way). Because there is no nylon there, the band will just stretch and never tighten on my leg, so it's always a little loose. Also, it may break or wear down since it's unprotected. Should I just sew a patch over the rip?

Did you mean to say a "handle down" leg sheath? If so, how do you draw it?

One thing I never let the troopers in my company do was wear a knife upside down, no matter what kind of sheath it was in. Gravity is a constant, and sometime in your life, you'll find you've lost your knife.
