The Mini Lawman is an "Also Ran", in my opinion. It should be a great knife. It has positive characteristics, such as a good blade design, great blade length for daily pocket use, and G10 handles.
Unfortunately, there are a few places where this knife could be improved to make it a world class knife. First, the multiple finger choils in the middle of the handle need to be taken out and flattened. As it stands, the knife only allows one holding position. It needs to be more functional for a variety of holds and daily cutting tasks. Second, the swedge on the blade needs to be removed. In many places a false edge that can be sharpened is illegal, and certainly looked on unfavorably in many other locales. Many police and fewer prosecutors know the difference between a swedge and a false edge and in this case the line is very fine, anyway. Third, the black blade coating needs to be removed or the color changed.
I would love to have a Cold Steel knife with a 2.5" blade suitable for pocket carry, but, as of right now, Cold Steel does not see fit to market such knives. I am a Cold Steel buyer and user, but they have a void in their line up and the Mini Lawman could fill that void with a few minor tweaks.
