My take on the Mini Lawman

The Mini Lawman is an "Also Ran", in my opinion. It should be a great knife. It has positive characteristics, such as a good blade design, great blade length for daily pocket use, and G10 handles.

Unfortunately, there are a few places where this knife could be improved to make it a world class knife. First, the multiple finger choils in the middle of the handle need to be taken out and flattened. As it stands, the knife only allows one holding position. It needs to be more functional for a variety of holds and daily cutting tasks. Second, the swedge on the blade needs to be removed. In many places a false edge that can be sharpened is illegal, and certainly looked on unfavorably in many other locales. Many police and fewer prosecutors know the difference between a swedge and a false edge and in this case the line is very fine, anyway. Third, the black blade coating needs to be removed or the color changed.

I would love to have a Cold Steel knife with a 2.5" blade suitable for pocket carry, but, as of right now, Cold Steel does not see fit to market such knives. I am a Cold Steel buyer and user, but they have a void in their line up and the Mini Lawman could fill that void with a few minor tweaks.

That's what I was thinking when looking at this model. All those things, especially the finger grooves - they're never a good idea when there are more than, say, 2.

Idk why they even made a mini lawman, the full size is already adequate for EDC in all areas...

I just received a mini Lawman yesterday from Amazon. I agree with your assessment. The knife is the perfect size for me as an EDC
I'm not in love with the texturing on the scales.I so wish they would build a mini Code 4 spearpoint. That would be the bomb

a mini Code 4 spearpoint.

That is actually the perfect idea. The Code 4 is so slim and sleek but its as big as a Recon 1.

MAKE A MINI, COLD STEEL, OR I'LL GIVE YOU A WAR YOU WONT BELIEVE.

The Mini Code 4 would be nice in clip or spear point. However, metal scales scratch easily and are slippery. The Mini Lawman could be nice if they would a] remove the finger choils/bumps b] remove the swedge c] remove the black coating. Then the knife would be good to actually use.
