Well my TGLB arrived today. I tore open the box and pulled it out. I love how it arrives looking like a slab of meat! I unwrapped the plastic wrap and butcher paper. The knife cover said it was inspected by 88 and sharpened by....BEEF!

I uncovered it. It was beautiful!! Truely sharp to so the SSSS was accurate. It feels great in my hand in ALL grips including the choke up. I know some say this is not a chopper and while I agree it would not be my first choice, it's got some heft to it so I'm sure it'll chop thick branches to make a shelter and bone if butchering.

The sheath is great to. Definitely over-engineered in every aspect. A few questions though...

The rope on the bottom, that is not paracord is it?? Doesn't seem so. If not it'll immediately be replaced with the real deal.

The retention strap for the handle...is that able to be tightened? I can't figure out how to do it.

I've read about people softening and molding the plastic insert...why is this done? Mine hugs my knife quite well due to a pinch point right at the top.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

I know they are not good quality but enjoy the pics. It was the best I could do with my cheap flip phone.

Hey there. The first thing i did with my spec ops sheath was heat the opening, and press the TGLB into it, allowing the guard to sit lower. It makes the knife much more secure, and stops ANY rattle.

If you'd like, i can take pictures, but it's really very simple. Remove the screw at the bottom, pull out the liner, and heat each top corner VERY slowly over a stove burner, then press the tglb into it until the corners curl down enough to let the top of the scales touch the very top of the liner sides.

Very pretty knife by the way. I love that finish

Here's how I did the insert.

That reminds me...that screw...what is it for??

Thanks for the info. I might try that heat job.

I added pics. The screw is what holds the insert in. It's not glued or sewn in. All you have you do is remove the screw, and the insert pulls right out

Here's a pic of the adjustment for the strap. You just pull apart the velcro, and reset it to where it needs to be

Thanks for those pics.

Nice light. I still haven't decided which I'm getting for it. But leaning toward either the EagleTac or the Fenix E05.

Congrats on your new TGLB! Put it to good use

Thanks Pokey! :)

...although I must confess I'm debating it at this point. As with my other Busse/kin they are just so beautiful, I hesitate to put them to use.

Is there any way to truely clean the grooves of the CF if dirt/wood/etc. gets into them? Maybe with a tooth brush or something?

Here is another shot of the fam...

I actually did something odd...

I put the TGLB into the Regulator's sheath. It does rattle some but it fits like a glove. I'm not sure that I'll switch but a few of bells and whistles on the TGLB's sheath need to be tweaked.

Thanks for the tip really works, bit afraid to heat it first but turn out really good! thanks:thumbup:

Congrats! It's a beauty. I wish I would've ordered the sheath with mine too. I'm sure I'll pic up something cool for mine though. You have a great little collection. :)
