Using a blade pre formed and drilled and sharpened, I am using padauk wood for the handles. Mounted them today using nickel silver pins.
It is during as I do this, is there any cautions or concerns with this wood when finishing it inside your home?
I hope this is not a prior question, I searched the forum.

It will give a lot of dust. You don't want that in your livingroom. Wear a respirator and don't make dust where you sleep/live

Padauk is in the group of oily woods that can create sensitivity over time. Nothing like cocobolo, but wear a dust mask and long sleeve shirt. It’s a shame to sensitize to some of these woods, as they are so pretty and nice to work with. Padauk is one of my favorite woods for handles, and it holds up very well, even without stabilization. It was my go to before I started using stabilized wood.
