Just as I finished that last post, my Third Sebenza just arrived.
It is a Unique Graphic, With a Damascus Blade. I purchased this used from someone on Bladeforums.
I don't know anything about this knife, what type of damascus it is, or what is the name of the design. Any info about this knife would be appreciated.

The Lockbar side inside of the handle says C 00, whereas the other side says A 02, normally they should be the same, correct? I though A and B meant the first or second part of the year, what does C mean? and why are they Different?
Any info would be appreciated, enjoy this pics.

On kind of a Sebenza feeding frenzy, huh? Nice grab and I think I know where it came from - Bob Rose? He's a good guy, and that's a really nice knife. It isn't unusual for decorated (especially Unique Graphic) Sebenza's to have mismatched date stamps on the handle slabs. Unless you have the birth card to prove it, though, there is always the possibility of knives having swapped parts. Bummer really, but there it is.

In any event, I think you can be very happy with that excellent knife. Congrats.

Lovely knife and congrats! I wish CR still did the sheen on the damascus blades. Does anyone know if they can be ordered with the sheen?

I did get it from him. It doesn't bother me. I was just curious about the scales.
Does C mean the third half of the year?

What do you mean by "the sheen" is this not what newer Damascus ones look like?

Hey Slider, You've got the CRK epidemic, HA HA, That's a Great looking Sebbie. The letters mean quaters of the year C for 3rd quater, 00 is 2000 etc. If you email one of those pictures to Heather at CRK she can tell you what the pattern is and the damascus pattern. ENJOY Armand

I know, it's getting pretty expensive. I'm still waiting on my fourth Sebenza a 2009 Large Annual.

I'll hopefully shoot her an email soon, thanks for the idea.

Another Question, This knife is definitely used, and I took it apart to change around the screws, the damascus finish was polished off around were the washers are. The knife opens extremely smoothly, a bit too smooth in my opinion, not that nice controlled opening like my other Sebenzas. Is this normal to happen over time with a Sebenza, or is it normal with a damascus version?

Congrats! Very cool. Sorta wish I hadn't quit smokin' Doobs back in the 70's Would be a nice knife to roll one and sit and stare at it.:)

Nice damascus. The newer damascus definately looks different - more of a flat finish than glossy.

Yes the newer ones have more of a greyish finish to them, the older damascus has more of a contrast or sheen to the blade. These are two of mine that have that contrast. I have been hesitant to buy a newer damascus because the contrast is not as black and silver. Although I love the patterns I personally like the sheen to the blade on the older models and was wondering if I were to buy a newer model if CR could add the coating to the blade. I guess I will have to call CR.

Beautiful blade!

I believe the Damascus Pattern is "Bubble Wrap". At least that's the closet in appearance next to Rain Drop from Devin Thomas' website.

Compared to the older Damascus you can see mine does look a bit more Gray Scale, but I LOVE it nonetheless!

Thanks for the photos. Very interesting comparison. I'm not sure if I Like my Damascus more than the lower contrast. I think especially on a plain Sebenza a more subtle Damascus is more appropriate.

Also, I find my Damascus very textured. A bit more than other Damascus knives that I own. By textured I mean when I rub my finger on the side of the blade. Is yours also highly textured?
My concern about this is for cleanliness and rust resistance. It's harder to clean well after using on food.
