Another thread got me thinking about something, and I want to combine two of my previous recommendations in light of that. I am not trying to argue about any other manufacturers or people. Anyhoo, previously:
1. A while back I suggested Buck make more knives on the feature level of the 880 on their own, with Buck designs. NOT as a slam against Strider (I handled a Strider knife at a show and it was great), but because, holy moly, I like Buck and I wanted to see a "straight up Buck" in the G10-ATS34-Titanium category. Please let me repeat a general request for a high-end Buck knife without everyone turning it into a controversial issue.
2. Recently I also suggested Buck make an upgraded version of the Nobleman. At the time I meant just an identical knife with upgraded metals.
But I was thinking today, why not make a next-size-up from the Nobleman design, make it here, use G10 and Titanium liners for the handle, and whatever current fancy steel for the blade? Someone give me a good reason why this would not be a good direction for Buck to take and I will shut up. Otherwise I will add it as a second item on my annual Buck request list, along with dumping some orange plastic into the Bucklite mold now and then.
