Well I will try not to make this to long or boring so here goes. Many years ago my wife found a stray dog out side my work place. She told me she called the pound and they came and got him. She said if they did not find a home in 7 days (that's how long the pound will look where we were) to bring him back. I said they will bring him back, she said no they will look for a home for him. I said dear they have found a home and it is you. Well not often but I was right. Seven days later they brought him back. Well he was a mess dirty, no hair on his tail or feet (he looked like a Sheltie) so off he went to the vet and the groomers. The vet said he looks to be about 8 to 10 years old. My wife did everything to find him a home. Newspaper stories, adds in free papers, talking to everyone. He was a real nice dog. House trained and well mannered. Several lookers but no takers. One family with kids came over and they loved him, well until he took a dump on the carpet in front of them (deal 0ff) we had him for about a month and never did he mess in the house. We after that I told my wife he is ours, he has decided he is not going anywhere. And so Toby became ours. Oh we had him for about 8 years so he just looked that bad when the vet saw him or he lived on long life.
What does this have to do with a CRK? Well I got this knife about a year ago, I think. As you can see it has been messed with but in a nice way. I have tried to sell it several times and did get some offers but really not what I would call reasonable (no offence to anyone we all have a price in our head that seems fair). But it just does not seem like anyone wants it. I got it out the other day and was think about it and for some reason (we never for get our pets) Toby came to mind. I walked out and told my wife this knife is going to stay, it is my Toby knife.
So if you made it this far here is the Toby Knife. If you have one please add to the thread.
Thanks for reading And Toby RIP

I like it. I have not seen any machine jeweling/turning in a long time. I like the look and subtle location of the work.

I don't really have a Toby knife, but I understand the bond that one can develop with a great dog;)

Thanks for sharing

Beautiful knife and story.

I can't believe I have never seen this knife for sale. I have to tell you, I would have bought it. It was made on my birthdate.

Thank you, he was one of those great mutts and the jeweling is nice.

I guess now I am happy you did not see it and thanks for the comment on the story.

I figured that was where this was going. You could do a lot, lot worse. That was very well done.

Great story. We have always adopted older dogs. They appreciate and deserve a second chance.
I have a Toby knife - an 8 year old Salt 1 that is fully serrated. It is a true beater but it will cut anything.
I want to not carry it but somehow it gets a second chance and finds its way into my pocket.

Don't you just love those second chances!!

I guess I need to try and sell one to see if I have a Toby knife :)
Good to see you Bill, I just wish it had double lugs, you know with me being left handed and all. I looked at it hard when you had it up. I like to believe that some things are meant to be and knives are no different.
