My tomahawk holder

I've been looking for a belt mounted tomahawk holder, but the assortment has been disappointing. What hasn't been disappointing has been expensive. So out of frustration and boredom I built my own.

It's ugly because it's a prototype, and I didn't expect it to actually turn out successful. Surprisingly it did. It's easy enough to slide onto the belt without sliding right back off because of the angle of the bend.

The edges have also been beveled so there's no hard scraping of the handle when it's slid in or out.

It also works well with each of my Cold Steel hawks, holding them in place by simple friction.

The only downside is it being rigid. If you have to bend over, it sticks out straight and can get in the way. And with the handle being at full length, it gets really awkward.

Try a d shaped ring for a danger type sheath set up, shorten handle or try your rig with a shoulder strap. The rig came out good!

great use of pvc, i was thinking about doing this for a sheath for some of my machetes that didnt come with one, great job!

Maybe you could just tie some paracord through the loop and then tie the cord around your belt. I like the design.

Would that require shortening the loop?

IS that PVC you used?

Yeah. 1 1/4" schedule 40.

Or if $15 is too expensive, go to a local craft shop or Tandy store and get a scap of leather and make your own. Better than walking around wearing PVC, at least in my mind. You can also use a carpenters hammer holder, but again.....

Lack of a picture isn't very comforting.

But I've considered hammer loops already. I don't really like how the tomahawk rides in them; especially if it's the frontier hawk getting carried.

I'm having a little trouble envisioning what you're saying here.

Wow, that's really bad ass. It would look really cool with leather and maybe a metal clip.

I can't do leather work.
