From left:
  • Schrade USA, Old Timer Sharpfinger, cir. 1988
  • Imperial pen knife, with main blade broken off (my grandpa is one of those guys who could never quite learn his lesson with regards to prying with knife blades
  • Imperial jack knife. Main blade is probably 1.5" long. This was my first pocketknife, which my grandpa gave to me when I was probably 8 or so
  • (at top)Schrade USA Old Timer stockman.
  • (Moving down the right side)Case Peanut, which I bought a couple weeks ago, and it has not left my pocket since. Chestnut bone, CV steel
  • Ryko liner lock single bladed knife
  • Case RussLock, in red bone, which I also bought a couple weeks ago. I made the mistake of trying to pocket carry this one after the Peanut, and it feels big and bulky, so I haven't carried it for more than an hour since I got it. It is 4" closed, counting the 1/2" lever.
  • Queen hunting knife, stag. This was my dad's which he got in the 50s.
  • Japanese copy of Case fishing knife. Never carried this one; it's too big. I should oil it up nicely and toss it in my tackle box. Note the bottle opener. I can't recall if this is a standard feature.

I've got a GEC EZ open jack and a vintage Imperial scout knife on the way, so I'll have to take a new family picture at that point.

Got any family pictures of your Traditional knife collection?

Great photos guys!

Smaug, Thanks for starting this topic. It reminds me that I need to take current pics of my collection for insurance purposes. I've bought, sold, and traded quite a few since the last time I took pics.
That Ryko liner lock of yours really catches my eye. Never heard of them but I like the looks of it.

Johnny, my favorite in your pic is that Elk handled GEC lockback.

Maybe I will get some family pics tomorrow and post them here. Good stuff guys!

Smaug, thanks for sharing your collection. if you're like me you will love your GEC EO jack :)

Johnny, I'm not sure if I prefer your #56 or the elk lockback Rick mentioned...is that in 440C? then I may pick that one as my favourite too...

I may take a "family pic" of my traditionals, although I guess my knife family is really small...but faithful and serving ;)

Smaug, the bottle opener was a feature of the fishing knives. Knife, scale remover, hook remover and bottle opener all in one.

Fausto, the stag #56 is now owned by a great member of this site, so he is no longer with me. The #72 in Elk is 440C, I believe, I'll have to be check though but I'm pretty sure thats their stainless.
I have some nice knives and I have to get around to getting a group shot, but getting a quality image is tough when shooting so many knives.

Nice collection. I see, you got bitten by the bug and infected with the disease ;)

You should try out a Peanut

And the GEC #66

And you need a scout knife (this is a Friedrich Hartkopf, Solingen)

And so on and on... :D

Kind regards

Nice collection Smaug.

Well, I took some time to get some updated pics of most of my traditional knives. I have a few Rough Riders and such that I didn't bother to potograph. Here are about 97% of the traditional knives that I currently own:

These next three photos are knives that won't fit in my display cases:

And last but not least, my current EDC rotation:

Very nice Rick. I like your display much better than mine  I really need to do something better for storage and display.

Thanks for the info Johnny, I thought it was stainless too.
As for the #56, funny enough, I wasn't referring to the stag one but to the ivory one (which, if I remember right, is the knife you won with your awesome photos on Duncan's giveaway). I know I'm probably the only one here who would pick that instead of the stag one...but taste is personal, right? :)

Here are some pictures of my two boxs of Frontier knives. Need to stop collecting Frontiers or get bigger boxs. To save you from counting there are 74 knives.

Wow...wonderful collection Rick. I think I see a hinge on one of you displays. Are they storage boxes or built on the wall? It gives me an idea for a storage display box, that could be hung on the wall and then taken down and carried with you as well.

Thanks Gevonovich. You are correct. They each have hinged glass lids and they can be hung on the wall altough I don't hang them up. They have clasp type buckles that hold the lids in place when closed. Mine are 12 X 18 X 1 1/2 inches. It sounds as if you might be considering making your own. I can send you a link to the vendor I bought them from if you like. They have better pictures of the cases than I do. You could use the vendor pics as a guide if nothing else.

Shoot me an email if you want the link.
