Taking the fine suggestions from this forum I went ahead and ordered a Kershaw/Hinderer collab. the Cryo. This is an impressive little knife and for $31 and a home stonewash this little knife is FUN! I will miss my XM-18 over the next 2 weeks but I won't be dissapointed with the substitute! Thanks for the great recommendation!

It takes it up a notch I think. Side by side with my XM-18 and CRK Sebenza a non-knife person would think it was in the same league... It certainly doesn't look or feel cheap.

I've bought two cryos already and gifted them to my sister and bro-in-law. I need to pick up another for myself. I'll have to seriously consider some of the mods that I've seen!

I bought one for my 11 year old son to congratulate him for completing his first ever Boy Scout camp far far from home. You should have seen his face! Priceless...

Glad you see the benefit of the Cryo as a travel companion. I purchased 3. One gifted to new home, one for travel and one in reserve (if my travel companion goes "missing").

The stonewash turned out nice. I have been kicking around a few texturing ideas. Not sure what I'll do, but leaving it be is unlikely.

I bought a few as well, I like it.
It is so overbuilt for the money, it's insane.
I have one in a box, my wife stole one, and for "mine", I took the pocket clip off and put a little lanyard on it and it's perfect for in pocket use.
Only complaint is the assisted opening.
Not and A/O, and it is hard to get used to.
....deal breaker, heck no!

Bunch of rocks in a water bottle, WD-40 and the dryer. More detailed instructions on the Kershaw forum...

That video site w/ Tube in its title had/has some videos posted on stonewashing using no heat setting on the dryer, in a bottle w/ media...like Maprik mentioned.

i acid eitched and stone washed one. then gave it to a friend of mine, i need one to keep but for the price its hard not to help a brotha out.
