Well, just returned from a trip, traveled from southern VA to San Antonio and back this week (nearly 2800 miles round trip). Debated on what to take, settled on the Case Medium stockman in red pocket worn bone. Turned out to be a great choice, light in the pocket, worked great for opening bags of ice, packages, and even cut up cookies and some other light food prep. Didn't really have a need to baton with it this week (kidding)
The stockman is just a great all around knife. Now that I am back home gonna change it out for something different but made some great memories with this.

Nice knife with enough blade choices to take care of almost any cutting chores .
This was my travel companion from 1961 until 2001 when I retired and then I retired the knife too . Took it with me to almost every state and a number of other countries on business for Construction and Agriculture equipment .

I assume that's a stockman? Or am I mistaken?

It does not have a Spey Blade but instead a Coping Blade . I always thought it was a Whittler . I bought it only because it was the best looking knife in the display at the filling station where I worked . It served me very well with the selection of Clip , Pen , and Coping blades .

That was termed a Carpenters Whittler by Camillus (and virtually identical knives by Ulster and Schrade) - more a Stockman than a Whittler (two spring construction with no wedges, etc.) and the typical blades a Stockman would have (exception of a Coping blade in lieu of the usual Stockman third blades of spey or pen or awl). Nice carry knives. OH

Not only is your Case 6318 handsome with it's darker than usual scales, it has the rare full Clip main blade in lieu of the typical Turkish Clip main blade. OH

Thank you for sharing Harry. What a terrific post. Posts like this are magical. We get to think of all the trials and tribulations this knife helped with. And the good times, especially those. Awesome.
Thanks, Pete

Thank you very much Pete . Every time I handle that knife I just feel like sitting down and thinking about what , when , where and who that knife and I have seen and done and the miles we have put on together . We have had a lot of fun . I could go on and on but I won't .

I've thought about this
Repeatedly

I even posted a link asking folks what would be their "travel knife"

I think for me it's gotta be the pioneer
But I recall noticing just how many folks did in fact day their stockmans
