Yup, the mail man delivered my box from Trident today.
I wish I could come up with a better exclaimation then just WOW!!! but I will have to say it takes my breath away. It is SOOO comfortable in the hand and is blazing sharp. I cut up some cardboard and it was like cutting hot butter and there is NO dulling of the blade and as most of you know....cardboard is really tough on a blade.
Some specs.:
Model Oberland 01
Heat Treatment, Triple Temper
Blade length 4.80"
Overall Length, 9.75"
Steel, CPM S30V, .250" full length
Tested hardness, 59-60 Rc
Blade finish, KG Gun-Kote, 2402 mil spec. O.D.
Handle, white G-10 very ergonomic.

Now, here is the picture that did not turn out as clear as I wanted:

Maybe this is a better picture, it's hard for me to tell with my bad eyes:

That thing sucks, you should really send it to me so I can fix it up for you...:D

Odd handle choice. Makes it look kind of cheap to me.

That's just me though. Congrats otherwise. It looks very nice.

Ginshun,
Naw, you would not want a knife that someone thinks looks cheap with the white G-10 now would you. Guess I will just slink off and hide in a corner, but it will no doubt be a "cheap" corner.

I was thinkin' that too, but I'll bet it looks great up close. Too many knives are not done justice in digital images. Otherwise, congrats on that serious trio of hardware you have there.

I'm so desensitized to insults and negative comments that I have a very hard time guessing what might offend somebody.

But I agree, I'm sure the handle looks much nicer in hand.

Hey, thanks for the update. So you did get the larger one at 4.80" of blade length. Man that looks mighty fine to me!

Muzzleup,

Very beautiful knife. It looks to be a sturdy piece of steel! I would like to own knives with such "odd choices".

dantzk.

I know it's not much, but I just got done cutting up about 10 cardboard boxes without any degradation to the edge at all but just for the hell of it I gave it a quick buff on my wool felt wheel with green compound. Now the knife is so sharp I am almost afraid to take it out of the sheath (now carrying it in a horizontal mode)....feels very nice on my belt.

I guess I won't be able to just have one Trident knife....I see more in my future!!

I personally think the handle looks great, is it G10, micarta or something else?

sOrce,
The handle is G-10 with ergonomic ground out areas on it....it's kind of hard to explain, you have to see it to understand.
To my eyes it kind of looks like a piece of aged ivory but the o.d. colored Gun-Kote gives it a kind of grayish look coming through from the tang.

I REALY LIKE IT!

J85...... don't sweat it. It's over. You have your opinions and I have mine

I've had the same problem Ron! I've now got three and can't wait to pick up a folder when they come out!

Great choice with the white G-10 by the way. ;)

Jerkeejoe,
I should be getting my TCFM 02 in the mail tomarrow. My next order will be for the TT 01 Tanto and I'll wait and see what the folder is going to cost. I will probably NEED THAT ONE TOO!

Trident Knives Rule!!
