Nice, both nice kits.
I like the outrider a lot but its a bit too wide to be comfy in hand.

Hey Liam...

Yaa I really don't find it wide at all.. It's really comfortable to me...
I also really like the amount and variety of tools it has...

Probably one of my favorite SAKs next to the RUK..I'm going to be replacing this one sometime soon for a slightly larger SAK...
Not sure which one yet..

Is that Leek assisted-Opening?

You Betcha!

I love the action on this knife. Showed the Leek to my dad who is a retired Federal Agent, and he replied "You know that thing is basically a switchblade." At this point I was getting ready to explain the "subtle" differences between assisted opening and automatic when he followed up with. "I got to tell you that is the stupidest thing I can think of, making a knife illegal based on how fast it opens." At which point I just smiled and passed it over for him to play with.

I can flick my buck strider open lickety split, it's amazing to me.
even with the pin loosened enough to let it fall open it still has absolutley no play at all, makes me reconsider giving it to my cousin to use if he joins the infantry.

A chopper, a wood-eater and a small wharncliffe. Go forth and conquer!

See, I have the Chive, a smaller version and honestly-I can't stand the assisted opening. It might just be me, but I find it to take more time than a Reg. One Hand knife. Now, it is not the assisted opening part that bugs me-it is the safety. I can't stand the safety. By the time you get the safety off you could have already had a regular OHO knife open, also, it would be very hard to do under stress. However, this is just my experience, also, with a bigger knife it might be different/easier, for on the Chive the safety is in a really awkward place. Well, to each his own, and if you like assisted opening, then you got yourself a fine trio there (Although personally I would throw in a SAK).

The safety is a bit of a pain. At one point I had removed mine, but didn't like how it looked without it. Instead, I just put it in the "off" position, and tightened it up until it didn't move any more. Problem solved.

Yep, I see the half moon signature of Royal Kami Bura. I have one of his UBE Kukuris. Man, that UBE feels like it would cut a tank in half. Too bad that Uncle Bill is not with us anymore.

Ciao

Looks like both you and Normark have all your bases covered. Great selections!
