Tonight I had the honor of attending my middle sons graduation,it was held at the main campus of the Pennsylvania State University,he graduated with a BS in secondary education,he's all educated and ready to go to work. This kid was about 12yrs old when he said that he wanted to go to Penn State and get a teaching degree,he did it on his own and I'm one proud papa and I just had to share it with somebody.

I cant think of anything more worthy of bragging about. It must be nice when they turn out right and you know you did your job well as a parent. My daughter is five years old and I hope I get to have a moment like yours in about seventeen years.

Congratulations!

congrats!! i graduated and am thinking abot getting my masters in education. nothing better than inspiring our future generations!!

Congratulations. Nothing is more important than education, and no part of education is more important than what is received at home.

Congratulations to you both!

-and AMEN!

That is awesome and congratulations on your kids accomplishment. He should have no trouble finding a job since Male teachers are in short supply..

Thanks guys, hopefully he'll be able to find work for fall.He has a couple of friends that have graduated in the past couple years and they're both working, thing is,they took jobs in center city Philly and Allentown, both say they love it but the kids are a mess.Jer really didn't want to go that route if he didn't have to,but he figures if nothing else is available he can get a job in the Reading city schools or if he lives at home for awhile,he would be ok subbing until something comes along.

Now that is a young man to be proud of!
(He must have some good parents too.)

He has my admiration and congratulations, working through school is not for the meek.

congrats, i hope i can come close to saying some of the same things about my son in the next 13-15 years. as others have mentioned, don't ever forget that this is in no small part due to his parenting and upbringing.

You know there have been a lot of days that I wonder why mine turned out like they did.Their mother and I split in 1995,it wasn't pretty, she moved them to,what I thought was about the worst place in the world, about 5 minutes from downtown Reading,PA.All 3 of them took it in stride, they could have easily turned into punks like so many others, but they didn't,they played sports, worked after school, got good grades and did all the right things, about the only thing that I really feel that I've added,is to teach them independence.I appreciate the congrats but I feel that they deserve it a lot more than me.I'll be sure to pass it along,Thanks
