I am itching for a new Spyderco, and I'm going to be in Golden on Wednesday. Any suggestions on things to play with? Drool over? I already own the Endura 4 Waved and a P'Kal.

You have to at least walk away with a Ladybug, if nothing else. Make it H1. ;)

What are the prices like in the SFO? Are they full MSRP?

The new Bradley C134CFP in CPM M4 steel should be there by Wednesday. That would likely be my first stop to see how it feels in the hand. I'm pretty sure materials and QC are excellent, but ergonomics are important to me.

If you haven't been able to fondle and grope the Bushcrafter UK then give it a look. It's a very high quality tool that even looks the part.

Gail will almost make you handle anything you even glance at so give yourself a little time. :) She also gave me a lesson on the sharpmaker which was cool. I picked up an aqua salt, but had a tough time not buying a manix 2 also. Check out the ball lock on the phoenix too.

I live in northern NM, so the Denver metro is only 6 hours away. Next time I find myself in the area, the factory is going to be a must see.

It's going to be like a trip to Mecca. Can't wait.

I just left Spyderco. I picked up a large knife carrier, spin, and Gayle Bradley in CPM-M4. This thing is a beast. I'll post pictures and a review of it when I'm not on my iPhone.

Alright, so now that I'm home, I found out this thing came RAZOR sharp. I just had to strop it though. Tossed it on my Chromium Oxide strop and this thing is wicked sharp. It's my first CPM-M4 steel blade and I love it. I am just a little worried about the rust issue with it because it's un-coated. The feel is great in hand. The carbon fiber is left exposed, and doesn't have the resin coating, which results in a great feel. Not to grippy, but you know it's not going anywhere. The grind is great in my opinion. I feel like I could tackle anything that comes my way, from tons of rope and boxes or anything else hard on a knife, to a tomato for food prep. The spyderhole isn't too sunk in, and is fairly easy to hit. The lock is also fairly easy to hit to close. There's a slight swedge on the opposite liner from it to get the thumb in, but I do wish it had a slight cut out to hit easier.

This knife is going to get put into my carry case for a little while until two knives in front of it form a blood pact with me (lots of martial arts training is to blame for this. I carry a knife till it cuts me, then it knows me and never does again. My BM Kulgera cut me to the bone on my finger two years ago, but has never cut me since). But after that, It'll see some pocket time so I can test out the CPM-m4 steel. What's the best way to keep it from rusting? I'm thinking mineral oil or something of the sort?

Greg

M4 isn't that bad about rusting. Keep it dry and clean more than anything else. Should serve you well.
