My Two KnIves for Woods Work

I wanted to have two knives for my "wilderness adventures" if that's what I can call them. This includes car camping (alot), going on canoe camping trips for a week at a time into remote areas, taking wilderness survive classes, etc. I figured these two knives should take care of my needs as I also carry a hatchet or ax and a multi tool. I am not really into extremely large knives unless it is going to be a machete or something. I could process wood fine with these knives if I lost the ax. I don't really want to chop with a knife much. I would baton a knife through a large piece of wood if I needed instead.

Anyway, I am pretty happy with these two. Both are made by Battle Horse. The larger one is a PLSK1 and the smaller is a Fieldcrafter. I just received the PLSK1 in the mail. I have not had a chance to use it for anything other than shredding my wife's Martha Stewart Living magazine. I slices right through the magazine pages cleanly and easily. The Fieldcrafter has been used but I stopped it back into shape without any problem.

like I said, I am very happy with these two and I think they are going to serve my purposes very well before they eventually get handed down to Lil Blade. The handle on the Fieldcrafter looks a little spotty because it has a bit of some oil on it. Both handles are bead blasted green micarta though and match nicely.

I am not familiar with either of those knives, but it appears we have similar tastes in our outdoor knives.

Awesome.

The Fieldcrafter was purchased directly from Battle Horse Knives.

The PLSK1 was purchased from the Pathfinder school It is made by Battle Horse as well. Ya I probably paid a high price for it but I like it and it was my choice.

Both knives are O1 and feel great in my hands.
