These are two of the best knives I've ever owned. The big one is a RAT7 in D2 steel and the other is a TAK. There really isn't much outdoors that one of these two can't handle, in my experience.

Great knives but I think I would've foregone the serrations and done D2 on the small knife and 1095 on the 7. To each their own. you say there isn't much they can't handle, but it they both look brand new?

yes........they do look brand new. All my rats(which now I own ALL but tak1) look used(cuz they are:D ). I would agree that there isnt much they cannot handle. BEAT ON THEM. They look better with a lil scuffin:thumbup:

Nice knives Dances With Knives. I have the RAT3, Tak, and a RAT5 is on the way. They really are great users. I don't see how one can go wrong with one of these RATs. I also picked up one of the RAT1 folders. I used it last night for some rough stock removal on a whittling project. It felt like a fixed blade.

Came in my mind to. Got the same (1095 PE) TAK and like it a lot. It’s a not-to-big camp knife that can carve word an has some chopping power. How do you like the heavy RAT-7 and the square handle after some good-old chopping?

You guys are observant. That picture is about four months old, the knives look alittle different now, this pic just looked better because they were new. I like the square handle on the RAT7, it doesn't bother me, but I've got big sausage hands. The reason that the RAT 7 is in D2 is because it was a gift from my wife, she didn't know the difference in the steel and bought it by looks. The TAK is in 1095 because it gets used alot and I wanted the ease of softer metal to sharpen in the field.
