I have written several posts about my "new" Umnum (bd 12/2010) that I purchased ANIB. I was having great difficulty in trying to unlock it one-handed. And then I noticed that the blade is no longer centered, but completely over rubbing on one side scale. Well, that's enough. I emailed CRK and sent it in.
Heather has been so nice and has emailed me several times, to let me know it's arrived and a guesstimate of how long it'll be away.
I know they will take care of it with caring hands. I am excited to get it back and I know it'll be "right" this time. I have NO idea of what was wrong, but the knife was "tight" when I got it, and I do figure it was basically unused.
And perhaps I'll learn how to unlock that knife yet.
I'll let you know when I get her back home.
But I'm not worried. I know you guys have said how great their service is, so I'm good with that.

So even adjusting the pivot wouldn't get the tip centered?

I didn't get a tool with the knife. I asked Heather @ CRK to include one with the knife when they mail it back to me.

Well it sounds like you just had to adjust the pivot, so when it comes back with the kit, you'll be set! :D

Thats a bit wierd. I unscrewed the pivot on my zaan all the way and its still dead centered. I think your lockbar might of had too much tension in addition to a loose pivot. I'm sure CRK will fix this for you no problem though.

I surely hope that this knife will come back WITH INSTRUCTIONS (:)) on how to adjust the pivot, for future use.

I mailed mine in to too because it was off centered. I see you guys always tellng people to adjust the pivot tension, and that's SOMETIMES the problem. But in my case, one of my perforated washers was SLIGHTLY warped. CRK did a great job fixing me up!

Indeed, but just being off center isn't quite the same as "completely over rubbing on one side scale" as the OP stated, that could really only be down to the pivot tension.

The difference is here it was okay and became off center over time with no disassembly done. That makes it pretty clear.
