My uncle owns a Kershaw that has black G-10 scales on one side and the clip side looked like titatium. Its not a real large folder knife but it looks and feels kind of chunky. I wish I would have written down the model number. Any help with pictures or descriptions would very much be appricated.
Thanks, C.S.

Hi C, welcome to the Kershaw Subforum :) To start, you can help us answer your questions by recalling the following :)

What was the blade style? Was the clip on the top or bottom side? What did the clip look like? Was the blade coated?

Regards,

-M

I remember the blade was not black coated and I remember him saying he bought 3 of them last year because that paticular model was not going to be made in the USA any longer. It looked somewhat like the Hinderer knives. Thanks for the help guys!

Are you sure its a kershaw and not a ZT model?

It may have been a ZT Model from last year??

Can anyone post some pictures or give me some model numbers that fit what I'm somewhat describing? I know it's a vague descripition!
Thanks,
CS

Wouldn't it be 100x easier to call your uncle and ask than giving us a vague description of a knife(and trying to guess)? Sheesh.

Hmm... The only Kershaw models I can think of from this criteria are the Volt 3600, the OD-1(not hefty), or the Zero Tolerance 0551...

Thanks guys for all of your replies and I'm pretty sure it is the ZT0551 model. I'll see my uncle in a couple of weeks if not sooner and I will confrim it with him. And if it turns out it's not the 0551 I'll let y'all know what it is he carry's.

One more thing...what is the big deal about the serial numbers on this paticular knife? I''m thinking I'm going to be in the market for one real soon! Again thank you to all that responded!!!!
Thanks,
CArey

There really is no big deal about serial numbers to most. A certain number won't make the knife any better than the next. Lots of manufacturers serialize their products, but not all. However, the model number is a different story.
Is this the knife?

RevDevil, It looks alot like the picture other than the G-10 was not one solid piece, I think?!
