Been away from the forum for a couple of months. During that time, we vacationed in Colorado for 2 1/2 weeks. The only knife I took was my 110. It stayed on my belt for horseback riding, fly fishing, off-roading, and hiking. I know I'm preachin' to the choir, but the 110 is a great knife. Small and compact when closed, full-size when opened.

Anyone else take a Buck on vacation?

The 110 is a great knife. :)
I've had a 110 (or Old Timer 7OT) on my belt every day for decades ... and a stockman in my pocket ...
I must admit though, I've been carrying both a 112 and 110 for a couple weeks now ... along with a stockman ... and a canoe ...

On vacation, I think I would carry ole blue. The SK 110 w/ blue micarta handles and s90v blade. Then as a spare I'd have my 334 Trapper. Sounds like you had a good time. DM

Yes Sir. I have been vacationing in Yosemite since last Thursday and have been carrying the 110 pro with lanyard modification everyday. Love it. The black bears are fond of it too. ;)

I always take at least one Buck on vacation. Depending where and what and flying or driving makes my decision. If flying, I pack a 371 or bantam in checkrf baggage in case some tsa person covets it, no big loss. If driving I take normal edc's for the weather/dress conditions.

I have, for decades now, maintained a "Travel Packing List" to keep me organized and make sure I don't forget anything when I travel. It lists everything from aspirin to waterproof matches. :D Two items on the list: Buck 110 and SAK (usually a Victorinox Woodsman).

I've found myself actually using a variety of Bucks models.
My BG42 301 a bit a 285 quite a bit and even a 111... But what I buy is almost always a 112. I like to carry one of my fancy 112's when I'm onstage in a open top shieth. But if I really, really had to take just one on Vacation it would be a 112 Ecolite.

For outdoor vacations (that means hunting, fishing, or hiking/woods bumming) I will carry a Buck 110 and a pocketknife, and in my pack a fixed blade - most often a Buck 118. For strictly mountain hikes (like the Appal. Trail) I switch to the Buck 422 for its lightness. When visiting my daughter (who always lives in cities whether Seattle, Washington DC, Bratislava, etc.) I carry a Buck 425 - tiny but useful for in-town stuff and very inconspicuous and has never been an issue in checked baggage. Vacation for me is usually back to MT. Always have a 112 with me plus a fixed blade and a slip joint.
