Well.. I got stood up...

So I returned her $32 gift box to Bath & Body Works and went to a Gun Show today.

I a bunch of ammo for my Makarov and a Cold Steel Carbon V, Hudson Bay Butcher knife for $10 and a J.Marttini Pukko for $15. Both a little bit used, but nothing wrong that I wouldent do to users.

I think I had a good Valentines day... to Hyell with her!

Should I convex the edge of the Butcher knife??? Hmmm???

Dave,
Everything's all relative. I spent my Valentine's Day in the hospital with my best friend, who had a stroke.
I think you did okay, buddy. You don't need her.

Stood up? Holy moly. On Valentines day? Geeze. I'm sorry. I wish the young woman had the honesty to just tell you she wasn't interested.

If she's that kind she's not good enough for you.

.. ... ....

I had a pretty good Valentines day- if you don't mind me saying so. I'd got a Balance model from Bill on the day of his Father's passing away. I'd never had a little khuk and didn't know why I really wanted this one.

a forumite wrote me about the model, I'll keep his name out unless he wants to come forward, and talked about what great gifts they made- especialy for the ladies with the heart shaped cho.

I knew then I'd give it to my wife. But I figured she'd sneer and say something like; "OH yeah, right: like I really want a khukuri!" We don't share many of the same interests and things have been tough lately. To my surprise she was delighted. I think the fact I remembered- these things are important to other people, not to me, exactly...

When I knew I'd give it to her I ran back to the cantina in a panic. There was a little sirupati for sale and I grabbed it. I needed a little khuk too, didn't I?
She can keep the one that feels best. She likes to go walking by herself and in these woods I like the idea of her having a weapon.

It was a pretty good day, but I remember many like SamuriDaves.

Geez guys... I didnt mean it to be a bad story! I am really glad I got what I did.

I got ammo and 2 good knives, with the exception of what every living Male on the face of the planet wants (a khukri), I think I did very well for the occasion.

As a matter of fact I think I think I am the one who came out on top! I bet she didnt get any cool knives for Valentines!

I'm sitting here laughing my head off. We spent yesterday traveling to the city and shopping. Between that and the kid, though we both had the cards from Friday, we didn't exchange them til this morning.

And she and I consider the candy I picked up today at half-price twice as good as it was yesterday.

I'm still basically house bound with the foot, so she said not to do any shopping. Instead, I cooked, then cleaned up the kitchen. Musta worked; she seemd happy.

I gave a balance to my wife as well, got it at the same time
She liked it and the heart shaped cho thing was cool.

Interestingly enough, like the Ak I got , it has it own little engery field going. You can feel it when you pick them up. Handmade khuks have got some soul and personality going on and I think she picked up on it. I was a little surprised that she handled it as much as she did.....and insist that it be sharp as well.

go figuare.....

I see I am not the only one who spent Valentines day buying a knife - got myself a Spyderco Ronin and spent the day playing with it (like I do with all my new knives I buy).

I remember some Valentines like that too. This one stands out in my memory: I was 12 when I had a crush on this gorgeous girl in my class called Valerie and made her a card which she promptly showed to all her friends as a joke and they all had a good laugh at my expense. I can joke about that now, but at that time I just wanted to disappear.

You did good Dave!!!!:D The Hudson Bay knives are a great deal when you can find them that cheap. I have a couple laying about the house as well as a Red River 'Scalper' with the beaded handle I traded a Flute for, one of these years I will get the matching scabbard.  :(

By all means convex the edge. All of mine are, even the long karda made from a CS Hudson Bay butcher knife that was cut way down with care so as to not burn it.:D

The kids in my wife's classroom brought a ton of chocolates and other candy to school for a Valentine's party.
She brought home what was left over.
We spent the next day scarfing it down.
It was disgusting.
We enjoyed it immensely.
