I thought I'd share my new Kephart designed knife with the forums. She's 9" total with 4 1/2 blade and handle. The steel on this one is 1/8 3V with a 90 degree spine.
Slabs are Micarta.
Made by Aaron of Grey Wolf Knives.
I've been wanting a Kephart inspired knife and Aaron did not let me down. I have the leather sheath as well as a Kydex sheath w/firesteel holder and Teklock.
Sorry that I'm not the greatest at photography.
I failed to mention she has a FFG.

Very nice. I would own a better Kephart now if they were 5" or so of blade. Most are about your size.

Figured you did. It looks great and a very useful size. My general woods knife is about 5-5.5". At the moment that knife is the Dozier Pro Guides knife or the Becker BK-15. Been tempted on a few Bark Rivers.... but you can only use so many.

I've been romacising about the, "one and done" size. So based on what I've used over my life and times, this is the size I want. I'll prolly set this one up with the Kydex sheath and strap on a mag pouch with the bare essentials. Then whenever I head out into the, Wild Blue Yonder, this'll be the one knife I strap on. Not one for this and one for that.
I'm tired of searching and playing around. Stick a fork on me. :)

I got the Dozier Pro Guides knife a few years ago and really like it. Probably doesn't quite compare to your Kephart, but I like it. I have Kephart's Camping and Woodcraft book sitting on my desk.... peruse through it from time to time about days gone by. I have the new video too. But sad to say, I haven't watched it yet.

I get a little tired of always looking for "the one". It doesn't exist and I'm satisfied. I have been mostly into folders lately.

91bravo 91bravo sums it up the best. Jonny? What do you call this never ending search for the perfect knife?

Doesn't exist? I beg to differ. I refuse to strap one with a convex grind on for this chore and a FFG for that chore. Use what you got and be happy. Ol Horace would turn over in his grave if he saw us today. I just want to get back to the simpler times.
Well, not too simpler, can I still bring my INFI Ratweiler? (I just bring her cause she's fun to use)

I call it just exactly the way you said it. A never ending search! Times change, and along with that, so will taste. I must admit, it's a fun adventure along the way though. Aaron really executed that Kephart very well! Congrats to you!

Didn't you once say something about a sickness?

Got any pics of your Dozier?

For some reason I'm not able to view the first photo. I assume that is the knife from the side with the sheath off.
I see the top view of the handle (looks great ) and i see the knife in the sheath on the horn.
I was going to say "What ? the blade is so cool and mind blowingly different that you are shield us for now from it because we wouldn't be able to handle seeing it without going mad ?
?:)?

Thanks WB. Can you see this one?

Thanks Wowbagger, I'm going to put this one thru her paces and see how she does. She might not be the one others are looking for and I'm sure many here could find plenty wrong with her but, as long as she meets my needs, that's all that matters to me.
Just thought I'd share with everybody. I wouldn't of known about Horace Kephart if it wasn't for you all. Thank you.
