My version of Fairbairn Sykes

Hello guys. A dagger collector from Belgium challenged me to make him my interpretation of the famous commando dagger, and I accepted. Here is the result. As you can see there are some differences, but it was alot of fun making it.


Steel - N690Co 58-59 HRC.
OAL - 336 mm (~13.2")
Blade - 205Х22Х4.3mm (~8.1x0.9x0.17") flat grind with secondary bevels
Blade finish - p 800
Handle - affrican blackwood and bronze
Leather sheath with wooden inlay

Thanks guys. John, I cover the parts in etch resist (nail polish in my case) and scratch the pattern with awl point. Then I do electrolytic etching. Then I clean the nail polish and apply some gun blue and after that I polish it slightly with p 2500 sandpaper and finally I put some oil to stop the gun blue.
