Maybe I don't get it...did you basically just steal Tim's design??? It's like a maker who was doing "his version" of a MT LCC, ignoring the fact that the LCC is a Lightfoot design. Sorry if there's more to it than that, like you went to Tim's shop and he helped you make it or something...

No Mitch. This was made with the permision of the designer. Who by the way is getting the knife. So no I did not steal it. To steal it I would have had to of claimed it was mine. Which I did not If U had read the subject U would see that credit was given to the original designer. Tim Herman sent me his design one nite in chat after I told thim I had design block I could not get any of my drawing to work out mechanicly or looks wise. Looking at his drawings and even taking it and modifying it, playing with the design helped me out of the block. I think that this is a represntitve of what kinda character Tim herman has. All the guys in Chat have heard about it and wsere waiting for pics. I debated on weather to post them here or not, I figured a flame war would start over "stealing designs". But since This is my home I said what the heck. This was also the easiest place to display the pics for the guys @ chat being that my DCC dont work.

I am not angry or offended just wanted to explain so that others dont jump on the "stolen Design" band wagon. I do understand that it is a common occurance. Mich had you known me a little better I do not beleave you would have posted your remarks. Thats ok no blood no foul I always say.

Thanx for all the good words from all

Otha nicely executed!
As a Chat Regular I can attest to the fact that Otha had Tim's full blessing on the making of this knife. Tim, like most of the makers I know are very generous with their; time, talent and knowledge.

Since I moved out of the dorms and into an apartment 6 months ago, I haven't really been in the BFC chat. I'm sorry if I came off harsh, and really appreciate your explaination. I think that MAYBE others were wondering the same thing. Hopefully my post and your explaination clears up questions for those who were wondering but did not ask. That being said...

AWESOME KNIFE!!! :)

Like I said No blood no foul. I should have explained it in my 1st post. I know how things can build up into something nasty. I am glad that that this has not. With out being face to face on these forums things can be taken the wrong way. I try to and had hoped that my explantion was not arumenitive or attacking. Thanx for the the kind word and I do not feel that U were harsh @ all.

Thanx fill for the input. Its always good to have some one to validate claims.

Otha

Not that it needs it but I can vouch for Otha and the design too. Tim blessed it. :)
Nice knife, Otha..

Nicely executed Otha. I hope I get to see it in person before you send it off. The pearl really sets thing off nicely.

Well Don Otha. It is also a good example how to make a knife that was inspired by another maker. (meaning ask permission and use your own interpretation of the design rather than trying to make an exact copy.) I am sure Tim is smiling.

Nice knife, Otha..

I can understand that but has anyone check with LG yet? ;)

As to Otha's work, he does WAY better knife making than photo taking!

I had one of his folders with beautiful giraffe bone scales, quite nice and fit and finish were excellent!

Otha, get a scanner, they do a very good job!

And miss you guys in Chat, removed the software as my kids were using it and I didn't much like the other kids in the rooms, and they tended to become overwrought with tension from typing on the computer to others so I said off it goes, and I'd not use it either...

But I'm on AOL IM late at night quite a bit of the time....GaryGraley is the handle.

Otha, very nice sir! and Tim, you're a kind man...

Thanx for all the good words guys. Well I took it to the Richmond VA show me and Alan did this weekend. It was hard not to sell when some one offers U cash for it. LOL. I got a lot of coment on it even a few ladies liked it. I will be sending it off tomarrow to Tim.

Sorry Andrew but I got to get this one off my plate to start the next one.

Otha

Got to handle this folder at the Richmond show over the weekend and I have to say that Otha did a fine job on it. The pics don't do any justice to it.
