I usually don't recreate someone else's knives but who could resist a classic like the V-42. Originally designed by Lt. Colonel Frederick for the First Special Service Forces, only 1750 are recorded as distributed. This is the knife that is depicted on the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, Joint Task Force 2 (JTF-2), and the United States Army Special Forces Unit Crest and shoulder patch.

Nicely done Darrin, forgot to ask earlier, but what did you use to seal and/or polish the leather? That handle has some character!

After I stained it I sealed it with tragacanth, then covered it with bees wax and hit the buffing wheel. :)
