The vest fits in a the pictured Helment Bag. It is not everything I would ever need but I have the luxury of a take home police car and carry everything but the kitchen sink in the truck. In the event of an emergency I would also have access to places to get more things. I wanted to have a vest to throw on if I was working and say a call for an active shooter came out or a woodline search. I have all my SWAT stuff but this is a good hook up. Before I had any say so my team was issued Safariland Cover Six Tac Vests. They are good armor but we could not afford all the pockets. I just "happened" to keep my old Eagle vest. Notice I use a mag pocket for my Glock 23. It is very fast and you don't loose three mag pouches to make room for a holster. Below is my EDC I have on me all the time. Any ideas and opinions would be very appreciated. Oh, and if you notice a lot of knives and flashlights it's because well... I love knives and flashlights.

why would it be worrying for a police officer to be packing gear like that?
i'd be worried when the bads guys are doing it :)

mercop, is that insulating tape at the bottom of the m16 mags? what's the purpose?

man thats a lot of stuff. hope you have a good belt.

someone correct me if im wrong but arent those pull tabs (to facilitate pulling out of pouch/gun) on the bottom of the AR mags?

Yes they are home made mag pulls made with 100 MPH tape and gutted 550 cord. I hold it all up with a Wilderness Instructors Belt on Royal Robins.

Nice setup... looks like a 12ga. is involved somewhere along the line. Any problems using the standard buttstock with the armor? Is that an M4 upper (vs 16" shorty)? Any reason why this config?

I have a Mossberg 590 in the trunk with all types of rounds to include OO, slug, beanbag and breahing. It is a Bushmaster M4. I went with the reg stock because it felt better for me and my six year old daughter (we shoot it the most) Feels more sturdy as well. Besides that I have added the HK91 style grip and the Badger Ordnace Tac Latch. Glad you liked the set up, it is meant to be sort of a SAK. I did not mention I carry a G19 for duty and the G23 rides in the vest all the time.

your 6 yr old daughter shoots??

mercop, ever considered getting one of those BHI omega tac vests?
they make them for shotgun/rifle combos

She has been shooting since she was three. I am not making this up. She loves the Ruger MK II. I always control her so that the weapon could not be misdirected. She has better muzzle control than most people I train. She is home schooled and is realy a Mini-me. I am not fond of BHI gear. My vest is and Eagle Tac an is and old issue. The shotgun is specialty item for me most of time now. Usually less lethal. The M4 is good for my MOJO (inner life force).
