I was looking on the www.knifecenter.com web site the other day, and realized they are only 15 miles from my house. I decided to give them a call and ask if it was o.k. to make purchases in person. The gentleman on the line informed me that was fine. I was very happy of course, because most local knife shops are limited in what they carry, and their prices are considerably higher than internet dealers. As soon as I got off work I drove the 20 minutes to the Knifecenter. Upon arrival I was kindly invited into what some may say is a knifelovers dream. A few computers, and shelves upon shelves of knives, and other cool accessories. Of course I bought a Camillus EDC in 154-cm as fast as I could pull out my wallet. The cool thing was they let me check out all the ones they had in stock so I could find the best one of the bunch. I also had a chance to check out the EDC anniversary addition. It's an all black EDC with gold hardware and a 154-cm blade. The writing on the blade is gold as well. After that, I was taken to the Microtech section. OOOOOHHH MICROTECH!!!!. The guy asked me if I liked OTF's. I told him I had never held an OTF, but I had always wanted one. He then hands me an all black CT II. WOW! Then he hands me a DA/LCC, and then a Auto SOCOM Elite. My head was spinning. I didn't know what to do with all of em'. Next I found myself in the MOD section with a CQD MK II in my hand. What a nice knife. My credit card was jumping out of my wallet. I was able to secure it though. Good thing too. All and all I would have to say my visit was lots of fun. I am definately a return customer. Anyone in the Washington DC area should chek these guys out. The best part of the visit was I was able to hold knives I would not normally have in my possesion. This way It was easier to make a purchase based upon what was in my hand as opposed to looking at in on a web site.
