So I just put in an order for a used Large Sebenza 21 with Snakewood Inlays from a dealer. I'm now $435 short. I hope you're happy now:grumpy:.

My recent history with CRK has hit a few bumps along the way.

My first Large 21 started out as a regular Large 21 before I sent it in to have a Unique Graphic put in with a Sapphire cabochan. Sadly I ruined it when I had the bright idea to put my Para2 in G10 in the same pocket and scuffed it horribly. Couldn't be reblasted due to the graphic.

My Large Insingo 21 was pretty damn good, though the plain jane handles didn't float my boat. And while I wasn't a fan of those rough sandblasted handles, I understand how they add grip to the otherwise smooth handles.

My Umnumzaan was near perfect, though again, grey on the front and back was not much to look at(kind of wish I got the Startac version now). The textured handles are a huge plus though. Simply my most carried knife that curiously shoved a $1000 custom out of my pockets:confused:.

I'm hoping the 4th one will be the charm and the best of all worlds. Eye catching wood pattern and gold anodized hardware, better grip from the inlays, polished faces on the inlays, and I suspect having the inlays would leave less titanium exposed to scratches and scuffs. Pictures will inevitably follow when I get it:thumbup:. I really hope this is the one, I need a good reason to rid myself of the other 50+ knives I don't use:D.

Let me know when you get into the 30+ CRK, then I will tell you how empty and dusty your wallet becomes... ;)

Only four?

I have one word for you

Damascus

:D
I asked them about that, but they said their damascus is backordered 9-12 months, and I simply couldn't wait that long for one. There were some small damascus models from the dealers, but I don't do small.

The inlays actually do help with dings; they seem the keep everything that is about to touch the scales and mark it up that extra mm or so away so they don't actually contact. Even on the micarta with the blasted ti they help. The polish you get with the majority if the inlays does seem to hide a lot of the scratches and dings though. You would think it would accentuate any scratches or dings, but if you think about how the usual blasted ti can get marked up by just about anything, it makes sense. I guess you'll just have to see it for yourself.

That would make sense given that traditionally scratches and the like would be caused by accidentally rubbing against a hard surface. Though in hindsight, titanium shouldn't be damaged to that extent so long as I don't do something stupid like putting 2 knives in the same pocket:D. Mirror polished anything would show scratches easily, but satin polish like on my William Henry TZ12 blends it in well. I still see some faint lines, but nothing like the blatant scuffing on my first Sebenza.

Just got it in today:

And of course the obligatory shot of the wood:

Not a bad deal for a used knife. $75 cheaper than a brand new one, and only a couple of scratches on the pocket clip, small wear marks on the back of the polished handles, and the edge looked like it was sharpened on the Edge Pro or WEPS.

Edge was rolled though so I put a mirror polished convex edge on it:

Makes me a bit itchy as some have noted that the edge rolls easily, though we all know there's only one way to find that out:thumbup:.

What did you use to apply the convex edge?
