I started collecting knives last summer. I bought a few and almost all were under $100. I joined BF this June, and in three short months I've acquired the following:

BM Mini-Grip
BM Large Ritter Grip
Spyderco Endura 4
Spyderco Delica 4
Spyderco Titanium Military
Cold Steel Recon 1

And I'm on the pre-order for a ZT0560 and the Carbon Fiber M390 Military.

Damn you for making my addiction worse! ;) Granted, I usually go on a summer buying spree and then stop until the next summer.

Seriously, though. In just three months I've learned more than what I could ever have hoped to learn on my own. Thanks guys! :D
My wallet (and girlfriend) may be unhappy with me but I'm lovin' the steel.

Very nice collection for three months.

I can't say enough good things about this place, i can't imagine what it would be like if i never joined BF.

Without me joining, I would have thought Gerber knives were all good (not all are bad, just many). Since joining and becoming steel educated I have saved a ton of money on junk I would have bought.

That's nothing, you ever S**K D**K just for knife money? :p

Not to be gross but that's a reference to the movie "Half Baked" by dave chappell, were bob saget gets tired of him complaining about his insignificant pot addiction and stood up in the NA meeting and asked him if he ever **** ***** for crack? (now THATS an addict).

That's how i felt listening to you rambling about your spending here.
The very hour i signed up here I bought a benchmade 42 and a BM mayhem and spent a hair over $400. Thats why I initally signed up, i got tired of waiting for balis to show up on the crappy auction site and then watch them get pulled after a day.
I then moved on to custom made slipjoints.
I just bought a custom titanium framelock and a microtech auto this last week. Good prices, but i wouldnt have spent a dime if it wasnt for this site.
I cant stand online retailers and their unrealistic prices, i'd rather buy second hand fron individual collectors/enthusiasts that probably aren't in it just to make a buck, they mostly want to sell off some of the collection to fund another purchase.
Plus its REALLY exciting to see what's come up for sale every day, instead of searching the web for a specific thing. If it catches your eye and its a good price or you can afford it GO FOR IT. WOW, I SOUND REALLY SICK. Its like I dont even have a preference to knife types. IF ITS SHINY AND SHARP. . . .

:)Welcome to the club, i recommend you just accept the addiction and look for a second job and a new girlfriend. :)

UH, SORRY.
It's late, I just got back from a concert and still sorta drunk/wired and can't sleep. . . . . . . and the Bob Saget Roast is on comedy central.

Negative to the find a new girlfriend thing. Just buy her a new knife too. I periodically space in a sharp present for my wife (still girlfriend at the time I joined last year), and she's plenty happy. I keep trying to get her to move beyond the Tenacious which I got for her, but she loves that knife so much that it's impossible to get her to try anything else. Tells you how great even a cheaper Spydie is. Also have an HI Malla waiting for her birthday.

Well, of course, you have to be able to trust her with a sharp object. If you can't, well, then you perhaps should be looking elsewhere.
