I'm not sure what do do with this because celluloid kinda scares me... is it celluloid? It's seen some use but it's the only Challenge I have ever found. Not sure when these were made yet. Interesting stamp!

Meh, from what I've read around here, just keep it well away from your other knives, and it'll be fine. Neat pattern, tho. Crazy, too!

Hi John, Challenge cut co Bridgeport Conn, 1891 to 1929. Check the tang for that mark. Neat old knife.
Could also have a Britsh mark but I thing yours is the Bridgeport.
Best regards

Robin

Looks like cell to me. It apppears to be shrinking, but doesn't look like it's gassing out. Some cell is more stable than others, could be due to the certain dyes that are in certain colors, but there is no evidence to support that. Enjoy it for what it is, but don't store it with any other knives.

still looks like it has some nice life left in it.

Cool knife. I like the celluloids because of the colors, but they can be trouble for sure. That is a neat stamp.
