After ordering a basic Wicked Edge kit without a base, I was going to go with a cutting board base, figuring it would be good enough. Then I decided I wanted something I could travel with, and this is what I came up with...

It's a simple wooden box with a cutout for a C-clamp to clamp it to a table, sort of like their field system. If I need more stability, I just align it parallel to the edge of the table, and add another C-clamp, but I find just the one is pretty darn solid.

The Wicked Edge itself was purchased from Bob at Oldawan, and it arrived very fast. I was very impressed with their service.

I had a similar set up for mine, but grew tired of having to clamp it. Is yours heavy enough to not be clamped? Btw....nice workmanship on the base, mine looked terrible!

Nice work, 09silverado! Does the clamp fit up inside the base for travel?

Do you have a transport case for your stones as well?

Good work. The base looks great. It appears you might have a little space inside for the clamp and maybe even some of the stones

For transporting/storing the stones I use a CD case - the two up variety holding 48 will hold 4 handles and loose parts perfectly like case logic CDE-48. I like the vaultz 48 CD case VZO1137 to handle 8 handles or take a handle set or two out to put in your other accessories
