I know this isn't knife related but my wife did this all by herself without even telling me or anyone else what she had been working on today. I heard her pounding and running a drill driver over there while I was working on knives but had no idea what was going on over there until I saw it when she called me over to show it off.

Normally she gets me to help or just do all this kind of stuff but this time she elected to do it all herself and totally with scraps of wood at that. Its a gift for our neighbor. Its for holding a flower pot. I bought her one of those small $99 Delta band saws at Lowes a while back and a 14 volt cordless drill and she did all the cutting on that saw and drove the screws with her driver. The entire thing is made from oak strips I saved from a wall I tore down in mid town Memphis for my sister in law. Those old plaster walls were a bear but I liked the old grey barn board looking oak wood strips so they have been laying out there for years.

Anyway, forgive the non knife topic here guys but hey, its my forum right? :D

Give my wife some due praise. She surprised even me here with her skills on this one and I'm really proud of her.

Sounds like you have a very wonderful, independent and creative wife, cherish her always, like I do with mine.
