Today is Connie`s day off, so last night we were talking about what to do today. Her answer was to go to Bass Pro and Gander Mountain! How can you top that? She gets up at 2:30 five days a week (she is off Wednesday and Sunday) and gets home at around 12:30. Then we usually go for a 2-3 mile walk. On Tuesday and Thursday we pick up our grandaughters from school because their dad works nights and is sleeping, and our daughter works on those days. She is a fantastic cook and baker, and loves to try new recipes. (ranch beans here we come!)
One more thing, when I mentioned I was thinking about leaving knife making, her reply was "Hell no you are not! I`ve never seen you this happy when you were part of the corporate world, we will figure something out."
Beat that, if you can!

I need to meet you two someday. Both of you seem so fabulous. I would be very sad if you stopped making knives (although my wallet would rejoice).

If she planning to do any craft stuff this year like last years' goodies?

Thank you! She is trying to think of some new craft ideas.

I haven't met her but she sounds like my kind of gal!

There is nothing better in this world than the love and support of a good woman. :)

hats off to you John! many times we don't recognize the people that support us, but you have done a great job here! my wife is the best too cause she puts up with my knife making habits! :)

I'm not going to try to top that one! I'm just going to say that I was blessed with another good woman. I don't know why but, I guess some of us just get lucky, and I think we are the ones that work at it too! Seems like most people now days just think you get married and you live happily ever after! Doesn't happen that way! Most people seem to rather throw it all away and get divorced. We work at making our relationships work. I have a woman that I met in and followed around for twenty two years in the Navy, she retired and now works for one of the local hospitals every day. She puts up with me day and night and doesn't complain too much. She takes care of me better than she does herself most of the time! If there is something that I want or need, I usually get it! I don't work out in the world anymore because of my disablilities but, I try to do my share around the house, and if she asks for something specific, I make sure it gets done. I do most of the cooking, which she hates to do! I love her to death and wouldn't trade her for anything, not even a JK knife! Ha! Ha! Seriously, I don't know what I would do with out her! We are no longer two different people, we are actually one! She is the best thing and the best friend that I have ever had in my life. We are coming up on our 38th wedding anniversary, and I hope we get another 38 more! Everyone should be so lucky! And that is how I feel about that!

Later,
Tom

It seems like both of you are very selfless and love each other very much. I think both of those are very important in marriage(among other things). Glad you guys make each other better when you are together.

Hi Stomper -

I agree - you have a very great woman - and your grandkids are awesome as well.

It is good to take stock of the many blessings you have in life, the rest is just to pass time when you cannot be with your bride, your kids and your grandkids.

best regards -
