I don't have many traditional knives however the few I do have I enjoy very much. I'm always rotating them in and out of my tray as that's really the only way I get to show them off. Even then the only people they ever get shown off to is my wife and son, but I'll take it.

So the other day my wife comes home and gives my son and I an order that we're not allowed in the garage. No worries, usually I'm getting sent there so this appears to me like maybe I'm gaining status. This goes on for a few days. Then one night she asks me to come into my office. When I get in there she has this cool vintage display case that she has set up on the credenza. It looks great and I'm really enjoying it.

She found it at one of the junk (antique) shops she frequents. She said it was covered in brown paint. She stripped it and stained it. Then she cut some black felt and covered the bottom.

I wish I was better at taking pictures and you could see how great this thing really looks. This blurry picture however is going to have to do.

Where do you house your favorites?

wow that looks real nice. the mirror in the back added a nice touch. i pretty much have a plain jane way of storing mine. keep them in the wrapper and the box and throw them in my closet in my bedroom. maybe over the winter ill hibernate in the basement and build a nice case for em.

That's a great looking display case, congratulations.

Also, congratulations to your wife for a job well done.

That is very classy. Congrats to you on such a nice way to display your knives as well as such a thoughtful MRS.

My wife got me this (stock photo) for me Christmas 2008. I think I need another one!

Really a beautiful case brought to life with love.

Great bent glass show case. They're getting harder to find and small ones like that are fairly rare. Congrats, great piece.

That looks fabulous. She did a great job on the restore of it and your knives look great in it.

Wow your wife did great. Kudos to her. See us women can make things awesome too. :D I display mine is a glass display my mom bought me a couple years ago. It has doors and selves within it. I really like it and being from my mom makes it mean so much more. The day she got it I told her not to cause I knew she didn't have the money she told me to be quit she wanted me to have it. She then told me all she ask is that I take care of it for years to come and I have so far. :) My mom sure is a great lady. If I can only be half of what she is I'll be happy.
