We were loading some furniture into my truck for her new office and she made the comment about putting the cushions into the "truck" I looked around and she was stuffing them into the back of her newish PT Cruiser.... I said that ain't a truck but she seems to think it qualifies. HEEEELLLLLPPPPP She's here saying, "it IS a truck, you don't think it IS a truck."

Oh now she's saying "it's like an SUV." pulllleeeezzeeee

Will she let you take it to the lumber yard and pick up sacks of concrete and plywood ? :D Heck , my wife won't even let me put my truck axle in her , aka . truck .:confused:

Here in Texas thats punishable by death. :D:D Just kidding, alot of people here call their little SUV's trucks too. I am like Crocodile Dundee "Thats not a truck" Then point to my truck and say "Thats a truck". Its a 2000 4x4 ford f150 beat to heck. Sometimes people just don't understand.

Small Car?:DStation wagon:D
My wifes 2007 chev 1500 is a truck.
I have a 2002 chev 1500. (its smaller than her's)
When I was stationed on the USS Forrestal CVA-59 people dared not call it a boat to a sailor.
My point is, It's all in how correct you want to be.
Another example is a stimulus bill or a spending bill.

Frank, get a rope.

It is common to hear people calling their SUV's trucks here in Texas. Heck, I refer to our Expedition as a truck sometimes. However, a PT Cruiser does not come close to qualifying as a SUV or a truck!

Will, you better tell us that she already had it when you met her, or that she bought it when you were in a coma or out of country. Otherwise, we're gonna have to talk un-nice about you ;).

This is hilarious. Sorry, guys your pickups are pickups, so is mine. They are NOT trucks. Trucks need to be able to haul tons. If it ain't at least a 2 ton it isn't a truck its a pickup. Like boats, even when I fished on a 105' crabber it was a boat, not a ship. Your laughing at his wife and the truck drivers are laughing at you.

I can see why they would laugh, but on the ford and chevy commercials the are advertised as pick up trucks. So now I am laughing right back.;):D

Haha, I was going to post something along the same lines as what Jim posted. My dad is a truck driver, and he calls pick-ups just that, or 4 wheelers :D

He's got a big 'ol F250 Superduty diesel, and it's still a pick-up to him. :)

Ironically enough for this story, my mom has a PT cruiser :D They just call it the "cruiser" :)

I've spent plenty of time behind the wheel of dump trucks and cab overs myself... and it definitely gives you a different feel for what's a truck and what's a pick-up :D

Ohhh yeah.. ever have time behind the butterfly of a Bradley or the twisty thingys of an M1? Like to see what a 25mm chain gun or a 120mm cannon does to your "truck" :p

I call my 91 Chevy 1500 a truck, or pickup, mainly the truck though.

She bought it with me tagging along. Ah well.... whatever

She did say she didn't appreciate me posting this and didn't care what y'all said..... Y'all are in trouble :p

I used to drive an 18 wheeler with my dad. He also calls his chevy a pick up and not a truck. I guess I just want to be cool. Hey Will I am used to it, my mouth works faster than my brain, just ask my wife.:foot:

So now you believe commercials. I bet if you drink the right kid of beer all the hot chicks hang all over you too. I don't really care what anyone calls them. Just funny that what level one finds the others terminology wrong. I am sure the guys driving 400 ton unit rigs give the 10ton dump truck guys a hard time. With 1375 hp and 1,320,000 GVW they can laugh at who ever they want. Our pickups couldn't haul 1 tire (without the rim).

If it's a working tool that you don't have a second thought about throwing a ton of crusher run stone or a couple of cars worth of scrap drivetrain in it's a truck, I don't care what the semi drivers call it. My old 1973 Dodge Powerwagon was certainly a truck. 1ton front axle, 2ton rear, I put almost 3tons of stone in it one time (according to the gravel pit scale)
My Dakota functions as a truck, but I think anything over a ton would break it. The scrapyard scale said one of my loads was about a ton, and that was pushing the limits

Yeah, my wife is guilty too. She refers to the Ford Escape that she used to own as her "truck" , LOL. After much laughter from me she finally refers to it by name. Semi-truck, Pick-up truck, dump truck, hand truck, all are trucks to me. Kind of like Bowie, Chef, necker, paring, dagger, etc. are all knives to me. However spoons sporks and spatulas are not knives. Can't blame the gals for having bed and 4x4 envy though.

Ahhh shucks! Them rollie eyes done made me feel bad about hard timin' ya. Guess I'll let it go...:( But that's just cause your wife's mad at us all!

It was the PT Cruiser or a VW Bug.... not much of a choice but at least the PT Cruiser thingy didn't have a freaking flower holder in it.

You can call it what you want especially if its working.

I keep thinking of this guy who had a jacked up 4x4 with 2 shocks in each corner. A fancy lime green paint job and all the goodies. After some bragging about it he proudly concluded with "and its never been off the pavement"
He called it his truck to. I am sure that nothing had even been in the bed either:jerkit:

From my favorite "Shoe" comic:

If you can't clean out the inside with a garden hose... then it ain't a truck!

Well, you've redeemed yourself by avoiding the VW bug purchase. A PT Cruiser is a small step up from the bug.

I guess I 'm a pick up man. Down here in south Texas some guys put wide 20" rims and thin racing tires on a pick up. I even saw an f150 with those rims and hydrolics:confused::confused:. That was just wrong IMO.

Hey Joe Cabaup what if I never wash it?:D
