My Wife's Choice

i traveled outside the US for a week, didn't trust my understanding of the knife laws where I was, didn't bring even the small Buck 283 that lives in my suitcase. Arriving home today but not going to my house, wife is picking me up at the airport and we'll go directly to her sister's place for the weekend. I texted my wife, "Bring me a pocket knife", she texted back a picture of the cigar box I keep on my dresser. About fifteen knives! She chose the Buck 503 based on looks and heft. Not a bad choice, the competition was a 112, a 345, a 55, an old 450, an antique yellow fishing folder with scaler and hook remover, an antique electricians knife, and many others. If she'd dug around the general mess I'm sure there's a 119 and a 110 somewhere on that dresser.

And no, she did not say I have too many knives!

My wife actually asked me once, "If you died and our kids gave birth to a bunch of grandkids are there enough knives for all of them to get one from Grandpa?" I laughed like crazy.

My sweet wife gave up asking about my knives years ago and I gave up asking about her shoes. We have been happily married for 25 years.
