Yes, I know it should be "knives", and no I won't change it. :P

I asked to see my wife's Spyderco knives for a second because I thought her Dragonfly used a different steel, so she brought them out. I was very pleased to see that all of them have seen heavy use. No safe queens there! I'm so proud of her, lol.

So what Spyderco knives does YOUR significant other (regardless of gender!) carry?

So without further ado, here are "my wife's knifes."

My GF does not have her own knife as she does not feel the same need as I do to have a proper cutting tool on her person at all times (weird, isn't it?). So then the need arises, she just grabs any of mine. Fair enough.

Regarding the knives pictured and your quote...

Given that all knives pictured are stainless (as far as I know)... the marks on the blades seem more like tape residue / gunk than anything else. So, congratulations for using the tools! But on the other hand, knives should be cleaned every once in a while!:D At least the blade. I know I do because they serve double duty (cut whatever is required and cutting food as well).

Beautiful knives, BTW.

@Sanaria actually just fell in love with a Spyderco just recently, she requested a pretty McBee to keep by the door for packages. She loves pink and black but has been on a rose gold kick lately so I went rose gold and black instead, and since it's close to Mother's Day I covered that base too;)

Yea, all stainless for her. A rust-prone steel would likely be a disaster, lol. Knife care isn't one of her strongest points. Asking her to clean the tape residue off would just be too much, lol. I was just happy to see how much she has been using them! It really shouldn't have come as a surprise though, with the pile of Amazon boxes I just recycled, lol. I did clean them up a bit after I took the pictures... And noticed that the Dragonfly is dull and the Ladybug has a super small chip, so I'm going to throw them on the Edge Pro tomorrow. :)

That turned out so well! I'm always awed by your work man. The engraving was a really nice touch. :D

I need to show my wife the McBee and Pochi!

Thanks! It was actually a huge pain in the butt, lol...without a doubt the most miserable lettering to date. I probably resharpened my chisel a dozen times for three letters...those tight turns in titanium are brutal:mad:

Wth, I figured you must have done that with an electric engraver or something. Yeesh! Sure turned out pretty though! Besides... It being a pain in the but to do makes it that much more special. :)

My wife told me recently that she wants to start a collection of her own. So far I've given her a Bow River, CS Orange G10 Black Blade Tenacious, Buck Avid, DLT Delica Cruwear, And KJ Blue Para 3 Lightweight.

I swapped the 20CV blade of the P3 LW with my Carbon 52100 and added a blue ano Lynch clip. Should be interesting to see how she maintains the blade, Which I always had coated with EDCI. Her grail knife is the Para 3 Purple G10 DLC Cruwear that's in my drawer....of course she'll end up with it.:)

That's awesome! I hope to hear those words some day, lol. Those are some great knives to start with! I bet that Cruwear Delica was hard to part with, lol. Yea... Seeing all the tape that was on my wife's knives, I don't think she would do too well with 52100, lol. Let us know how it goes!

It sounds like you better just start buying two of each knife you have your eyes on. :D

I have the 2019 and 2020 Spyderco catalogs in different bathrooms in the house as normal "reading" material. She usually picks out models she likes there, And then inquires what Colors are available via Sprints/Exclusives.

I actually traded a Delica KW 204P to a gentleman on the exchange who had the DLT Cruwear available. She liked the Green Black blade combo... it's usually colors that draw her interest!

When time allows, My better half makes beautiful custom leather Sheaths for my fixed blade collection. Unfortunately her free time is no where near my buy rate. 🤔😀

That's is just awesome all around!

I think I'll borrow your strategy of leaving Spyderco catalogs around the house, lol.

One lady carries the Q US flag version and the other has an old school integral clip Endura, Delica combo edge, Mouse, original green Lum Chinese or Matriarch.

I wasn't even aware the U.S. flag Q existed. What a cool knife! That Mouse is really rad too. The first time I saw one I thought it said Wenger and not Wegner... A SAK/Spyderco collab would be sweet, lol.

Spyderco Dragonfly Tattoo is her EDC and basically her first pocket knife, the tattoo was worn away after a couple years.
Kershaw Starter, I bought this as just a pick up and carry when we flew into Oregon a few years back, my wife said she wanted it but in the end it’s heavier than she cares for.
She bought the Tenacious a couple months ago, one day when she was mad at me and didn’t ask my opinion, and likes it enough to carry it once in a while.

I think my wife may have a favorite, lol...

Awesome to see all that use on the Dragonfly. Now that the tattoo is worn away, it's the perfect canvas for some custom engraving! :D

I need to get some Spydie's in my wife's hands. Her only folder for about 10 years or so has been an Emerson Mini Commander.

New one for the wife! A modded Spyderco McBee. :)

Damacore Hugin blade
"Easter Bunny Flomascus" anodized scales
Aqua anodized, McNee "Hhoneycomb" clip
Purple anodized screws
Purple anodized standoffs

I'm not super impressed with how the Damacore reblade ended up, but it was just an extra piece that I cut off from the length I'm going to use for the Sebenza reblade, so that's ok. The wife really likes it, and that's what's important. :D
