Got the RC-6 set up last night for a little woods romp tomorrow and figured I'd post some pics.

I made a ghetto drop for the sheath so the handle would clear my impressive love handles. I also attached my Leatherman Surge. I just tied it on with paracord for now until I can make up some Molle strips out of kydex.

Hopefully, I get as much use out of the RC-6 as I have out of the RC-4 and Izula proto.:D

There they be. These are just about the only knives I use anymore. My Manix, and an AG Russell woodswalker and my RATs and I'm a happy camper.:D
 
Nice photos, Camelbak HAWG in foliage green?
I like the bare metal Izula with the OD cord wrap, any problems with rust?
The mod you did on the RC-6 sheath looks great as well as the custom Izula sheath, did you fabricate these items or purchase them?.:thumbup:

Yup, I love that bag, it's bombproof.

Very minor rust issues with the Izula, but I carry it all the time so it's to be expected. I clean it up regularly with scotchbrite and keep it oiled so mostly it's just spots of patina.

I made the other stuff. Not pretty, but it works. The drop for the RC-6 was just a belt off of a cheap backpack. I just made up the kydex plate and used post screws to attach it. The rest of the hardware came with the Molle locks with the knife.

The Izula sheath looks like something batman would carry if he was on a tight budget, but it does the job.

I have a Camelback HAWG too and agree that it's a great pack.
All the mods you did are great, I'd much rather create something than buy it and your ideas look like they work well.:thumbup:
 
Nice set of RATs. What multi-tool do you have in the pouch?

Leatherman Surge. I picked it up to replace my 5yo. Wave but it's just massive, so I still find myself putting the wave on my belt everyday. I like the Surge though and it fits nicely with the RC-6, when I have that on, I'm not concerned with size and weight.:D

The RC-4 is seriously just about a perfect knife. The size and ergos are spot on. It's my favorite fixed blade.

I need to work the kinks out and carry it and work it hard a few times before I would send one to anyone else. I'd hate to put out junk. Possibly at some point, I'll let you know.:thumbup:
 
Looks like you have a nice collection going. Are you going to be getting the HEST or the RC5? You know you want to complete your collection eventually :D

Not real positive I'm liking the HEST just yet, have to wait and see. But everything else is on the menu. Hoping to trade into an RC-3 soon (have a few knives I want to expel) and then a production Izula so I can shelf my proto and keep it purty and not risk losing it.

I'm waiting for this RC-5 hysteria to blow over and the preorder thing to be out of the way before I worry about that one. But it will come.:D

Funny about the surge too. I sold mine, thinking it was too big.

Yea, the Surge really is too big. It just gets caught on everything while walking and it pulls my pants down with it's incredible weight.

It's going to work well in it's new role though.
 
Nice group shot :thumbup:. Waiting for my tan Izula to arrive then I'm going to try and get a pic of my 3 RATs together.
