Got a wee bit bored today (I am SO ready for Spring...), turned my ankle at work so hoofing it thru the snow and ice this weekend is out. Thought I'd take a pic of my current woods knives collection. I really love my Bravo 1 and Bumblebee, but I try to rotate carry once in awhile so the others don't get too jealous.

Starting a 1:00 they are: BRKT Bravo 1, BRKT OMF knife, Ontario RTAK II, Leatherman Wave, BRKT NorthStar, BRKT Bumblebee, KaBar Becker Necker, Camillus Becker Campanion, Blackhawk Kalista, Fox Knives Golok, Leatherman Skeletool, Timberline Bush Pilot, BRKT PSK, Ontario Kukri (from Brigade Quartermaster), and an old KaBar USMC knife I rescued from my wife.

Good looking collection. The USMC Kabar looks well used, at least in the handle area. Do you know how old it is?

It was my wife's grandfather's knife in WW II. He passed away before I could meet him. My wife (I love her dearly) was using it for things like cutting drywall, as a prybar, a hammer, and other un-knifey chores. It was in terrible shape when I rescued it. I wish I'd taken pictures of it while I was working on it. There are still a few deep (nails...) nicks in the blade, but I didn't want to do any major grinding on it. I cleaned it, polished it, cold blued it, and polished it again. It's still a great performer. It says KABAR on one side of the blade and USN on the other. The sheath says PAL on it.

That's a nice collection. Really nice. You don't seem to have much overlap. I find I have acquired several similar pieces, but don't have the full range that you do.

Taking note of the nice variety you have, do you have a favorite blade? If so, why?

Nice set! No Moras though? You need at least a 711 or carbon Clipper in there. Best $12 you'll ever spend!

Hey DRMUDD,

Like you, I really love the Bravo-1, in fact, so much that I bought a second one. Having said that, you really need to try a Gunny. I didn't think it could be near as nice as the Bravo - I was wrong :o .

Doc

I keep looking at the Gunny. Will probably drop the hammer on one w/ the tax refund. Almost everyone that has one here at WSS loves theirs.

I have the Bravo-1 and Gunny and they are indeed fine knives which I use a lot. You won't regret owning either.
