My XM Dilemma

I have, as many of us have, been longing for a XM 24. I am hesitant to put out $1000+++ for one so I am trying to decide if I should trade or sell a gen 2 non-flip 18 to acquire the 24. I have a flipper gen 3 XM-18 as well that sees equal carry with the gen 2. I realize a gen 2 18 may never come my way again...of course the availability of a hand ground 24 would make my dilemma much less burdensome.

I am looking for input from anyone willing to lend an opinion.

Thanks,
Dan

you've got one life to live man- go for the gusto and get that xm 24- and sell the gen2-18 to augment to your available funds. GL either way.

I'd trade-sell the gen 3 and stick to the gen 2.
Downside is you will have to ad some $.
I have both,a production and a custom slicer XM-24.(not for sale btw)
Nowadays a production sometimes shows up,the customs are rare and big $ (only a few made untill now)
If you can live with a big knife the 24 is great.I edc mine in rotation with the XM-18's too.

I have had all 3 sizes and I really like BIG folders. But the XM-24 was too BIG for me. Plus the high $$$ amount prevented me from using it as any use would drop a few $ hundred $ from resale value. Stick with your XM-18's as they are everything you will ever need. Like you said, Gen 2's are very hard to come by. My XM-24 production sold on ebay for $1450 by the way, so as with all the XM's, value does fluctuate.

I would absolutely never trade a custom Hinderer for a production Hinderer. To me, there's just something special about having a hand-ground blade. Don't get rid of that Gen-2.

I think you should keep the custom. More production xm-24s will be made. Not the case with the gen 2.
