I received one of the very first ZT 452s from Kershaw guy, Serial #0443. Well a couple months later it developed these spots on both sides near the tip of the blade. I have tried to polish them out and wax them with some Flitz brand products and they won't come out. Now I'm thinking its something wrong with the blade it self, perhaps the heat treatment, any thoughts? The knife has been EDC'd occasionally and never sharpened or put to a belt grinder.

No idea. Mine has been well used and has nothing like what you are showing.

That to me looks like discoloration from contact with some type of liquid. I have had juice, popsicles and all sorts of crap leave stains on the blade. Has the knife ever made contact with any liquids that didnt get wiped and cleaned right away?

I can't recall if it had any contact with liquids. I've flipped the knife allot while watching Walking Dead and drinking various beverages. That might be the cause, anyways I'll call the warranty department.

Not to be the hall monitor...but the OP has already tried Flitz per his initial post.
